At THE STUDIO Martial Arts & Fitness, we are honored to be part of so many incredible journeys. One of our families recently shared this letter with us, and it left us humbled and inspired. 💙
“Dear Master Pourarian,
I’ve sat with this letter for months because how do you write a thank-you to someone who has changed your life?
The Studio is a place of integrity, discipline, resilience, and heart. It’s not just a martial arts school, it’s a community, a sanctuary, and a second home. You’ve built something extraordinary, and every single student, young or old, brand new or on the path to Black Belt, feels it. You set the tone. You lead by example. You are deserving of every bow.
When we first came to THE STUDIO, I thought I was just looking for a way to help our youngest son with his focus and self-regulation. But you saw so much more than that from the very beginning. You immediately recognized what each of my boys needed—how our youngest would thrive in a safe, structured space, and how our oldest could be pushed to grow in confidence and strength. You didn’t just welcome them, you welcomed our whole family.
For me, after a major injury and years of putting others first, I wasn’t sure what I was capable of anymore. But you and your incredible team helped me believe in myself again. What started as a way to support my son has become a life-changing path for all of us.
You’ve given me back a sense of physical confidence I thought I’d lost forever. You’ve shown me that strength doesn’t mean perfection, it means perseverance. Your Studio helped me move again, trust again, and rebuild not just mobility, but belief in my own resilience. And at the same time, you gave my children structure, compassion, and pride in themselves. You gave my husband and me a shared purpose, and you gave our family a rare and lasting bond: we are a Black Belt family because of you.
I’ve watched you teach with presence, with power, and with precision. But I’ve also watched you lead with kindness and humility. You’ve created a space where expectations are high, but compassion is higher. You make every student feel seen.
I model my own teaching after you. I lead my special education classroom with more focus, more strength, and more care because I have watched how you lead yours. The tenets of Taekwondo guide my parenting, my work, and my life, and that’s because you’ve shown me how.
There will never be enough words to fully express my gratitude. But please know that everything I’ve achieved on this journey—every belt, every breakthrough—has been shaped by your vision.
