As a service to women in our community, THE STUDIO Martial Arts & Fitness will host free fitness and breast cancer awareness events on Saturday, October 25. The events are open to the public at no cost; participants do not need to be a member to attend.

Attendees are invited to dress in pink gear and join in a pink-themed cardio kickboxing class from 10:00am to 11:00am. Exercise and breast cancer survival go hand-in-hand; research has shown that regular physical activity reduces the odds of developing breast cancer. No previous experience is necessary to attend the class.

From 11:00am to 12:00pm, a breast cancer awareness seminar will be presented by Dr. Scott C. Braley, M.D., a board‑certified physician who practices in Roseville. Dr. Braley will discuss topics including self exams, screenings, mammograms, prevention, and treatment. The seminar will conclude with a question and answer session.

“One in eight women will be diagnosed with some form of breast cancer. Many of us have been touched by breast cancer, whether personally or in support of a loved one,” said Amitis Pourarian, owner and instructor at THE STUDIO. “We’re pleased to host this event that will help increase breast cancer knowledge while attendees have an opportunity to focus on their own fitness and health.”

For more information about the event or to RSVP, call THE STUDIO at (916) 258-5425.
