What have you achieved this summer? If you’re anything like local husband-and-wife entrepreneurs Shannen and Tony Park, your hard work and commitment over the winter and spring months produced great results for you.
Shannen and Tony spent the past 6 months training for The United World Taekwondo Association (UWTA) 2014 Regional Championships under the instruction of 6th Degree Black Belt Master Amitis Pourarian, owner of THE STUDIO Martial Arts & Fitness.
The tournament was held June 21 at American River College in Sacramento and drew hundreds of competitors from across Northern California.
The Parks’ intensive training helped them achieve some big milestones. At the tournament, Mrs. Park was awarded a gold medal in both the women’s forms (poomsae) and women’s sparring competitions. Mr. Park was awarded a gold medal in the men’s sparring competition and a silver medal in the men’s forms competition.
“I’d like to congratulate Shannen and Tony for a job well done,” said Master Pourarian. “They worked very hard to prepare for the tournament, and their dedication really paid off.”
When they’re not busy practicing Taekwondo at THE STUDIO, you are likely to find Mrs. and Mr. Park at Rivers Edge Cafe in Sacramento, which they own.
